Our Story

The story of El Salvatours is quite hard to believe and much better told in person. But I guess you clicked on the link for a reason, so we’ll give it a go.

In 2018 an Australian backpacker (William Dos) was travelling through Central America after living in Colombia for 6 months. With a small amount of Spanish and some questionable decisions, he found himself hitchhiking from Honduras to El Salvador.

Arriving with a few negative misconceptions, William (Dos) and his 3 travel friends were quite surprised to see how green the country was and how friendly the people seemed, quite the contrary of what they had in mind when deciding to ‘take a risk’ to not skip El Salvador.

After reading a travel blog about cliff jumping in El Salvador’s largest National Park 'El Imposible', William(Dos) and his friends knew it was something they needed to do. As the information in the blog was out dated, the group headed to a pueblo in the east called Tacuba to see if they could find more information. After almost 3 days and countless chicken busses, they had successfully booked the tour for the following day.

Enter El Salvador’s best tour guide; William Uno. Charismatic, honest and kind hearted would be three perfect adjectives to describe him. Right away there was a bond between the two Williams. It may have had something to do with having the same name, but as the tour went on it was clear that they would form a strong friendship.

Fast forward 8 months and William had booked flights to return to El Salvador. He would arrive in January of 2019 to begin a new adventure with his friend and now business partner.
